Circuit-Breakers and Switch-Disconnectors up to 6300 A
Intelligent and capable of communication
The IZM was the realisation of a circuit-breakers concept that has now become
the standard worldwide. The compact circuit-breaker in the rated current range 630 to 6300 A utilises the very
latest protective measures and technology which, in many respects, has set the benchmark.
In terms of performance with higher switching capacities; in terms of function through the increased signalling
and information features; and in terms of handling through front access to the operating components and in terms of
installation through the identical connection positions for fixed or with drawable installation.
The IZM is available in three
frame sizes up to 6300 A. Compact frame size 1 from 630 A to 1600 A only
requires a 400 mm wide area in the control panel and that saves
space. Frame size 2 covers the wide range from 800 - 3200 A, simplifying
both engineering and installation. Frame size 3 covers a range from 4000
A up to 6300 A. The same door cutout fits all breaker sizes.
Each size of IZM is also available as an IN switch-disconnector. Both
accessories and operation are identical to those of the IZM circuit-breaker enabling simple retrofitting on site
for all versions.

The IZM is used worldwide in the modern power distribution systems,
such as MODAN 6000.
Used together with the innovative ARCON® protection system, arcs are quenched within 2 ms
before their destructive effects can develop. The IZM reliably disconnects the short-circuit current.
