Restructuring and Design of the Entire Power Distribution in the Head Office

The requirement – the concept for the complete solution

The Hamburg-Mannheimer, which belongs to the Ergo Group, has over 29,000 employees and is Germany's second largest life and accident insurer. At the Hamburg office around 4,700 employees are responsible for processing over 4,039 million EUR worth of premium payments.

For a long time the many varied tasks of a modern insurance company have not been able to be managed without the use of IT resources and consequently a reliable power supply, available round the clock for 365 days a year, is an essential requirement for troublefree working in the company.

The planning offices Loy & Partner, Tiggemann Consulting & Engineering and the Hamburg branch of Moeller GmbH therefore developed a concept for the complete overhaul of the power supply and distribution systems at the Hamburg head office whilst they were still in operation. The restructuring was successfully completed after 18 months.

Moeller was responsible for implementing all the services in the field of power distribution, including engineering, project management and monitoring, as well as commissioning and documentation.
