Delta connection

  • Rated current Ie of the DM4 corresponds to 58 % of the motor current IN
  • 6 cables to the motor (as with a star-delta starter)

Advantage of the delta connection

In this type of connection, the individual phases of the DM4 are switched in series with the individual motor windings (6-conductor connection as with a star-delta starter).

In this connection, the softstarter only has to carry about 58 % of the motor rated current, therefore a much smaller device can be used.
