Electronic position switch
Programmable electronic position switches at any time
A highlight is the world's first LSE (Limit Switch Electronic) electronic position switch. The devices can compensate for all measurement tolerances with every application: The need for cumbersome adjustment with gauges and sliding callipers is completely eliminated. Each device has a freely programmable operating point and can be individually adjusted to suit the application and can be changed as often as required.
The innovative LSE position switches represent a market premiere, as it is the first time that a single device for all applications has been launched on the market, and is also for safety-relevant tasks and applications. The use of just a single type offers a wide-range of advantages: There is an enormous reduction in the complexity and expense in areas such as logistics, purchase order processing, stockkeeping and administration associated with bills of materials.
Further convincing advantages: Divergent positions for the attachment bores or tolerances of brackets and flaps have no influence on the operating point of the position switch. After mounting the device, the operating point is “learned” eliminating any time-consuming fine adjustment tasks. This saves precious time and avoids high tooling costs. Furthermore, every electrician and mechanic around the globe is in a position to effortlessly adjust the devices. The devices plainly signal all actions and include optical indication. The LSE-Titan® is also certified by TÜV-Rheinland "Functional-Safety"
(German authorized inspection agency in the Rhineland region).
The LSE-11 and the LSE-02 may be used in safety-oriented circuits.
Safe LSE-AI and LSE-AU analog sensors
The LSE-AI (4 – 20 mA) and LSE-AU (0 – 10 V) analog position switches offering another advancement in this field. The actual position of a flue gas flap or an actuator can now be monitored continuously for the first time. The position data is converted to an analog current or voltage value and continuously fed to the automation environment. Even the data of objects with different sizes or thicknesses such as brake blocks can now be monitored and processed further.
Simple speed-based control systems for fan motors or ventilation systems indicate the extent of the air flap opening (e.g. 25, 50 and 75 percent), thus allowing savings in energy and materials. The analog position switches also feature a diagnostics output for additional data processing. This ensures that a safe operating state can be monitored and evaluated at any time. The position switch also has a self-test function. Outputs Q1 and Q2 are continuously tested for overloads, short-circuits to 0 V and short-circuits to +Ue.
Like the electromechanical position switches, LSE-Titan® position switches ensure category 3 or 4 of the EN 954-1 standard for machine safety when configured as a redundant system. All devices are thus suitable for safety applications that are used for the protection of persons or processes.
Control circuit devices from the RMQ-Titan® range can be used in combination with the LS-Titan®, the entire unit at least offering protection to IP66 front and rear.
The travel resolution and consequently the resolution of the analog signal is 100 increments. The mechanical hysteresis is 0.4 mm with the basic units; the reproducibility is +/- 0.02 mm.
The roller plunger, roller lever, adjustable roller lever or actuating rod feature additional mechanical preloading.
