Automation System with Approval for Shipboard Use: 5.7 Inch TFT Touch Panel, Compact and Modular PLC.

The MFD4 5.7 inch multi-function display, the XC121 modular PLC and all easyControl compact PLCs (EC4P) are now available for shipboard use. These devices from the xControl series now meet the approval requirements of the following shipping classification societies: Lloyd's Register (LR), Germanischer Lloyd (GL), Det Norske Veritas (DNV), Bureau Veritas (BV) and American Bureau of Shipping (ABS).

All devices are programmed with easySoft-CoDeSys in accordance with IEC61131-3. It integrates the programming system and the visualization, thus allowing direct access to all controller variables. The MFD4 multi-function display from Moeller's easyHMI device series now features a full graphics 5.7 inch colour TFT display with 32,000 colours, resistive touch, as well as a host of communication and network options.

The touch-sensitive display (320 x 240 pixels) allows the implementation of intuitive operating concepts. The absolutely flat and seamless display surface is protected to IP65 and can be cleaned easily. The rugged metallic MFD4 stands out for its elegant design, a bevelled front frame and small mounting depth. It is compliant with the ATEX Directive 94/9/EC Group 22 Category 3 D and thus also suitable for use in dust-laden environments.

The MFD4 not only provides HMI functions but also handles PLC tasks for small automation applications. For this purpose, MFD4 also features an Ethernet, CANopen/easyNet and RS232 interface. The CANopen interface of the MFD4 also enables other CAN nodes such as remote I/Os or frequency inverters to be integrated. easy control relays or easyControl (EC4P) can also be connected simply via the easyNet interface of the MFD4 for remote pre-processing or controlling.

The easyControl in the easy800 housing rounds off the high end of the existing easy performance range and closes the gap between the easy control relay and the PLC. The compact controller can be combined with Moeller's standard easy series. The integrated CANopen interface provides new communication options to virtually all automation devices. Whether CANopen or easyNet, the combined CANopen interface enables users to choose their network structure for themselves. A wide range of different peripheral devices can be connected to the CANopen interface, such as remote I/O systems, drives, HMIs etc. Ethernet is available optionally onboard and also allows for relevant features such as OPC server, simple programming and the integration in existing infrastructures.

A module with 6 DI/ 4 DO, a module with 2 configurable 0-10V, 0-20mA or PT100 analog inputs and a module with six configurable analog inputs are available.

The XC121 modular PLC is ideal for applications requiring a high performance where space is at a premium. The XC-CPU121-2C256 can be expanded with an XIO-EXT121 I/O board and other XIOC I/O modules. The controller integrates 2 CAN, 2 serial interfaces (1xRS232, 1x RS232/485) a 256KByte program and data memory, an integrated flash memory and a pluggable MMC for program updates recipes and datalogging. The XIO-EXT121-1 I/O expansion features 10 DI, 8 configurable DI/O, 2 analog 0-10V voltage inputs, 2 0-20mA current inputs, 2 analog PT100 temperature inputs as well as 2 0-10V analog outputs. Other I/O modules can be connected.
