Eaton’s Moeller Business Expands its Electronic Motor Protective Relay Product Range

Bonn,… As one of the leading manufacturers of components and systems for electrical engineering and automation, Eaton’s Moeller Business is launching a new generation of ZEB Electronic Motor Protective Relay with Wide-Range Overload Protection.

Eaton Moeller's ZEB electronic motor protective relay provides an alternative to bimetal overload relays. The wide-range overload protection and the variable tripping classes enable users to considerably reduce the range of types in the selected current range and thus reduce inventory costs.

ZEBs are designed for the range from 0.3A to 1500A. Thanks to an electronic circuit with its own power supply, no external power supply is necessary. Motor-protective relays with electronic wide-range overload protection, like the Eaton Moeller ZEB, operate with a larger current transfer ratio. In this way, the device has a wide current setting range in the ratio 1:5 compared to conventional bimetal relays.

The variable tripping classes (CLASS 10A, 10, 20, 30) enable ZEB electronic motor protective relays to offer a solution for heavy duty starting. The manual or automatic reset is also adjustable. ZEBs with integrated ground fault detection (Variant: ZEB…-GF) do not require any external summation current transformer.

ZEB also offers a solution for imbalanced loads – users can select the phase loss sensitivity required for the application at hand. A diagnostics LED gives a visual warning of an overload. ZEB electronic motor protective relays can be fitted directly on DILM contactors up to 100A. A separate mounting (rail mounting) is possible up to 100A (variant ZEB…/KK).
