Eaton’s Moeller Business expands its High rated Contactor Product Range up to 3200 A

Bonn,… As one of the leading manufacturers of components and systems for electrical engineering and automation, Eaton’s Moeller Business is launching a new up to 3200 A high rated contactor devices.

In recent years further developments were made in the wind power sector, particularly in the continuous increase in the capacity of wind power plants. The current range of high rated contactors increased accordingly.

Despite the increase of the voltage below 1000V, with voltages between 690V and 980V in common use, wind turbine manufacturers demanded switching devices for very high currents. The new DIL H2600 high rated contactor from Eaton Moeller meets these requirements. The vacuum technology of the DILH2600 contactor is the key benefit compared to the competition. The vacuum tubes of the DILH2600 enable it to achieve a very high electrical and mechanical lifespan. All this comes with a rated operational voltage of 1000V and an extremely compact design.

The current load in accordance with AC-1 operation is 2600A at 60° Celsius or 3100A at 40° Celsius. Depending on the application, the external suppressor can be mounted on the incoming or outgoing side or both. The suppressor circuit is primarily plugged fitted and is fastened with two screws. The simple removal and refitting considerably reduces the time required, such as when system tests are carried out by the customer. The DIL H2600-XSM suppressor circuit is suitable for machines controlled by frequency inverters since the use of varistors make them frequency independent.
