Eaton's Moeller Business Value Added Logistics – Partner for the OEM.
A new department has now been in place for a year at Eaton's Moeller Business central warehouse in Meckenheim: Previously extraordinary customer requirement were satisfied through "unofficial channels". Today Eaton's Moeller Business is offering a new and attractive value added service. This brings benefits for many customers, particularly those from the OEM sector, who not only require the supply of standard Eaton's Moeller Business products to be fast and reliable, but who also require the preparation of the items concerned to specific customer requirements before delivery. This ranges from the individual labelling of articles with the customer's material numbers to the pre-assembly of any Eaton's Moeller Business products. Special requirements related to packaging or form of delivery are also offered by Eaton's Moeller Business with this value added service. As the two European distribution centers in Meckenheim and Brünn are equipped as full range suppliers with around 10,000 articles in stock, Eaton's Moeller Business can now supply 95 percent of all orders from the warehouse.
The Meckenheim logistics center had already been labelling supplied goods with customer material numbers for some customers. For this Eaton's Moeller Business has developed an internal barcode system which is now available for all customers. In the European electrical engineering industry, Eaton's Moeller Business was leader in the introduction of the EAN13 barcode system, which is why all Eaton's Moeller Business products have had an EAN13 barcode on their packaging for a long time. If the delivery in the distribution center is for a value added logistics customer, a scan of the original barcode is used to print a customized label containing the data required by the customer and the internal article number. This information can be printed if required in machine readable form (barcode) and considerably simplifies the customer's management of incoming goods and inventory management.
Customers with series production in particular appreciate this service which provides different products already pre-assembled. This saves time for the customer during installation and also simplifies their logistics processes. Suitable combinations can already be ordered and processed with a material number. Naturally this offer also includes customised labelling.
Large size and reusable packaging is often more economical than standard packaging in series production. Eaton's Moeller Business value added logistics also meets these requirements and can provide the delivery in the optimum size and packaging form for the customer.
However, it is not only OEM customers and those with series production who benefit from Eaton's Moeller Business's value added logistics. Eaton's Moeller Business service also offers solutions for wholesalers and bulk purchasers, for whom the delivery is made directly in customized containers.
The terms and conditions of all offers are designed to be particularly customer-friendly. The key objective of the service is the customer satisfaction of existing and future Eaton's Moeller Business customers. Eaton's Moeller Business is offering a genuine value addition for customers - at attractive prices.
