IZM Circuit-Breakers: New Air Circuit-Breaker Series.
At the Hannover Fair 2009 Eaton's Moeller Business is presenting a completely new series of air circuit-breakers. The new IZM product family now consists of four sizes - IZM20, IZM32, IZM40 and IZM63. This covers a rated current range from 800A to 6300A. The height and depth are identical for all devices - only the width increases the higher the size of the circuit-breaker.
Eaton's Moeller Business is also offering a completely new and extremely compact IZMX16 for rated currents from 630A to 1600A. Its volume is only 32 percent of the previous circuit-breaker. Two IZMX16s can fit next to each other in a 600 mm wide section, and even in removable compartments. This saves both costs as well as mounting space and enables the possibility of new solution concepts.
The terminal design of the IZMX16 is also extremely flexible. The terminals can be implemented as flange connections thus reducing the required mounting depth. A terminal adapter allows users to implement also a horizontal connection or, by simple rotation, a vertical connection. An electronic protection function is a current world innovation that also offers the maintenance personnel more protection from arc faults: If maintenance personnel enter a hazardous area, a bypass is connected immediately and also remotely, which ensures an even faster tripping time. This reduces the energy so that the temperature and pressure of an igniting arc is reduced by a further class. Eaton's Moeller Business offers upwardly compatible protection functions right up to the maximum arc fault protection using the ARCON system.
Different protection requirements placed on the circuit-breaker and key additional functions such as communication are covered by Eaton's Moeller Business with a wide range of selection options for the release electronics. The IZM is equipped as standard with microprocessor controlled release electronics. Four different release electronics are available and thus ensure optimum system protection. External add-on modules can also be connected easily to the internal system bus of the IZM circuit-breaker in order to implement alternative communication via Profibus or Modbus. In addition to this, a complete range of accessories is provided that allows virtually any application, whilst also enabling flexible adaption to new system requirements.
Custom-designed system solutions can be implemented with the "Eaton's Moeller Business switchboard system partners". Thanks to their considerable application experience, the system partners ensure optimum implementation of customer requirements and wishes. For this Eaton's Moeller Business offers a wide range of modular switchboard systems and solutions such as MODAN and xEnergy. If customers wish to design their systems themselves, the "curve select" and "xspider" software tools can be downloaded from the Internet (www.moeller.net) for further support.
The IZM circuit-breaker series is tested in compliance with IEC 60947. The NA-approved series is ideal for systems for export to North America.
