Moeller has power distribution under control

The increasing demand for power is a fact in all economic sectors. For this reason, Moeller’s energy distribution program is highly regarded by its customers. The switching and protection devices, the corresponding mounting technology and the housing, all form one single technical and economic unit. With xEnergy, customers benefit from individual ease of configuration, maximum flexibility, cost-efficiency and safety.

With its power distributors, Moeller has placed the emphasis on a module-based system that is composed of functional modules type-tested according to IEC 60439. The platform is available up to Form 4, and takes into account local installation practices (DIN, VDE, CEI, NF, UNE). Consequently, panel builders may offer individual solutions that can be implemented in different world regions. Moeller offers:

• feeding and coupling sections for circuit breakers up to 4000A,
• outgoing sections to be individually fitted with fixed modules for switching and protective devices up to 630A,
• outgoing sections of up to 630 A for switch fuse blocks, fuse rails and fuse switch disconnectors, in assembled form,
• control and vacant sections for free fitting of e.g. motor starters, compensation modules, frequency inverters, soft starters, or to address automation tasks,
• as well as support modules for modular installation devices, thus serving as distribution boards for electrical installation

At the customer’s request, Moeller can deliver the entire line functionally packaged into individual units (flatpack) or as a pre-assembled switching cabinet. xEnergy thus represents a complete power distribution solution that is comprised of switching and protection devices, mounting technology, and the switching cabinet, including a planning and calculation tool. Individual projects can be carried out quickly and efficiently, whether for functional, office or industrial buildings.

Meanwhile, the power distribution generation of the future is composed of compact distribution boards, flat distribution boards, distribution boards for electrical installation, insulated distribution boards, and wall-mounted or floor- standing distribution boards. This line of products reaches up to 2500 amps and is being gradually expanded.

In addition to their good price-to-performance ratio, the Xboard power distribution boards are also at an advantage with their “complete and clever” features. “Complete“ means that the enclosure is fully assembled at the factory for surface or flush mounting. The system can be configured easily and safely through functional modules that can be ordered as individual items.

“Clever“ stands for quick and simple mounting. The ample room for wiring allows for a quick and easy connection of the components using busbar systems. The removable DIN support rail assembly proves to be extremely practical; it has the advantage of allowing the wiring to be carried out outside the enclosure. When fixing the front plate, it is automatically integrated into the earth conductor circuit. Special 2-component lead-through flanges additionally allow for the quick insertion of cables without needing any tools.
The appropriate enclosure is always available thanks to the diverse measurements. Pre-configured modules have space for all desired components such as DIN rails, NH disconnectors, terminals or circuit breakers – an invaluable advantage for our partners in the electrical business.

SVTL add-on distribution boards – power distribution up to 2500 amps
The SVTL line of products is comprised of a universal switching cabinet program in which distribution boards for electrical installation, motor starter combinations, control applications, frequency inverters and compensation systems can be implemented easily and economically.
The advantages to the customer are impressive: The high mechanical stability thanks to the welded mainframe as well as a low number of diverse components make this system flexible and reduce the need for stocking parts. Cladding parts are structurally integrated into the earth conductor circuit; additional electrical connections are not necessary. The SVTL is suited for power distribution systems with supply capacities of up to 1600 kVA.

CI insulated enclosures – a plastic-encapsulated combination for the most severe industrial working conditions
Any kind of production is fully dependent on the provision and distribution of power – regardless of whether this concerns mining or steelworks, or the food or chemical industries. Low-voltage distributors must always function reliably. The casings are there to protect them: On the one hand they prevent any direct contact with live parts and, on the other hand, they fend off damaging external influences such as water jets, dust, or aggressive vapours. Therefore, CI enclosure components are especially suited to exposed areas thanks to their high protection class (IP 65) and their plastic composition.

Distributors encased in insulation are type-tested switchgear combinations (TSK) pursuant to DIN VDE 0660 part 500, or type-tested assemblies (TTA) pursuant to IEC 439. The CI system demonstrates its flexibility during assembly: Thanks to the module-based system, individual solutions for wall-mounted or floor-standing distributor combinations can be created from just a few single parts.
For all popular applications, Moeller’s CI range of products also offers pre-fitted enclosure units as type-tested functional units.

Profi+ range of enclosures – safety and protection for the demanding industrial sector
The Profi+ product line, developed for sub-distribution up to 630 amps, is a wall-mounted range of enclosures for industrial applications, complying up to protection class IP 54. This series of enclosures offers universal mounting options. Together with the well-proven installation distribution system (IVS), it can be used as both a power distributor and as a control distributor.
