XVTL – The universal genius from Moeller

Schrems, March 2008 – All-encompassing warehousing is expensive. It costs space and money. Moeller took this problem to heart and developed a new floor-standing distribution box that perfectly fits into its existing range of products. Despite the enormous number of variants – it can be obtained in heights of 1400 to 2000 mm, widths of 425 to 1200 mm and depths of 300 to 800 mm – the XVTL hardly needs any new parts to be stored. Its inner workings have basically been adapted to already-existing Xboard products. This means that racks that are positioned in the Xboard Profi+ or the IVS can also be optimally placed in the XVTL. This applies to mounting sets for NZM circuit breakers or for the SASY 60i busbar system, as well as for diverse DIN rails, mounting or front plates. This newly-gained compatibility between the diverse Moeller distribution boxes eases not only storage, but also helps the panel builder to save valuable mounting time. Ultimately, thanks to the standardisation of the control cabinet's inner workings, he works ever more frequently with the same components.

More robust type – positively regarded in functional buildings as well as in industry

With Xboard and xEnergy, Moeller offers a consistent range of enclosures and distributors for energy distribution up to 4000 amps. The XVTL itself accommodates switching devices in its interior, which suffice for applications up to 2500 amps. Typical areas of application can be as an energy distributor for functional buildings or as a control enclosure in industry. In the latter case, it gives proof of its robustness.

Easy mounting – two tools are all you need

The new member of the Xboard family is a dismountable enclosure that was perfectly designed up to the smallest detail. In its interior, proven Moeller products such as Xboard Profi+ or IVS were used as standard, while xEnergy was used for its frame construction. The XVTL is screwed together and not welded. The greatest advantage is that during assembly the panel builder can get by with just two tools – for standard torx screws T25 and T30. The handling of the enclosure door is also quite simple. The hinges attached to the interior are easily removable, thanks to which the doors can be positioned to the right or to the left without any additional mechanical processing.
The assembly is carried out the fastest when the customer trusts Moeller's competence as a full-system supplier for the composition of his control cabinet. In such a case, the customer receives perfectly optimised, tested functional units that can be mounted most easily in the XVTL in the front and mounting plates via plug-and-play, thanks to a customised set-up.

All from a single source

Moeller is one of the few suppliers for whom having the complete package means the casing – the enclosure, its interior – the switching devices, and comprehensive system accessories. For example, the XVTL has a mounting aid that makes it easier for the customer to position the pre-wired panel in the control cabinet. Other optional and useful features such as a door arresting set, a door contact switch with brackets, control cabinet lamps, diverse locking systems and much more, are available and highly coveted by control cabinet assemblers.
