Safety is always the decisive factor
Bonn, April 2008 - Xboard – Moeller's comprehensive distributor program, adapted to all industrial applications.
Power distribution is made easy with the CS wall-mounted enclosure made of sheet steel, the CI all-insulated distribution boxes, or the IVS service distribution system.
CS sheet steel wall-mounted enclosure
Stability with a high claim to safety
The CS enclosure series made of sheet steel is extremely stable and can be used anywhere where a special level of safety is required. This could be as effective protection against direct contact with live parts, or the protection of all built-in equipment from damaging outside influences such as fluids, for example. Thanks to the high degree of protection IP55 – guaranteed by a continuous foam-type polyurethane seal – water, oil and dirt have no chance of entering the enclosure and causing damage to the interior. This feature makes the control cabinet superbly suited for sub-distribution in control systems for industrial and functional buildings as well as for mechanical engineering.
The solid sheet steel enclosure allows for classification into impact code IK10, pursuant to EN 62262. In addition, the structured paint finish using a powder coating process provides abrasion-proof protection against corrosion.
As the name states, this enclosure series can be wall-mounted.
When mounting and installing the device, the enclosure door can be easily removed by releasing the hinge pins using quick-change technology. The hinges can be re-attached on either side without having to drill holes. In the case of larger wall-mounted enclosures, three hinge joints provide additional stability.
The three-millimetre mounting plate made of galvanised sheet steel guarantees the safe installation of the switchgear, as well as the basic protection for electromagnetic compatibility. The 2.5 millimetre design of the mounting plates used for small enclosures, and the 3.0 millimetre design used for larger enclosures allow for quick installation without jamming.
Since the enclosure can be rotated 180° during mounting, it is possible to insert cables from above or below. The large flange plate openings also offer the installer more handling flexibility. Both the flange and mounting plates have been included in the earthing concept, thus making an additional earth grounding unnecessary. As a special service, Moeller offers individual solutions that are tailored toward the customer's wishes.
CI all-insulated enclosure – plastic moulded-case distributor in a modular component system for the harshest ambient conditions
The CI system demonstrates its flexibility during assembly. Whether as an individual enclosure, wall-mounted or stand-alone distribution box, the CI all-insulated enclosure in box-type design up to 630 amps is always the right solution.
Production processes are fully dependent on the provision and distribution of power – in whatever industry, whether mining, steelworks, or the food or chemical industries. Low-voltage distributors must always function reliably – with the Moeller CI all-insulated enclosure this is ensured.
Moulded casings provide maximum operating safety and personal protection. They prevent any direct contact with live parts and, at the same time, they fend off damaging external influences such as water jets, dust, or aggressive vapours. Therefore, CI enclosure components are especially suited to exposed areas thanks to their high degree of protection (IP 65) and their glass-fibre-reinforced carbonate composition.
Some of its special features are a cover that is lifted via spring-loaded master pins for pressure release, a transparent cover for an optimum view, and a base cover to interconnect, attach, and cover large cable cross-sections in the floor-standing distribution box.
CI all-insulated moulded-case distributors are type-tested switchgear combinations (TSK) pursuant to DIN VDE 0660 part 500, or type-tested assemblies (TTA) pursuant to IEC 60 439. For all popular applications, the CI program from Moeller offers pre-assembled enclosures as type-tested functional units.
The IVS service distribution system for time savings
TThe IVS was developed for power sub-distribution up to 630 amps and is impressive as a safe and economic unit for supplying energy in industry, commercial construction and buildings.
The program includes both wall-mounted and floor-standing enclosures, each with protection degrees IP30 and IP54. The high standardisation of the enclosure allows for an especially speedy mounting: The cabinet's installation space is divided into uniform sections measuring 250x375 mm. Thus, the control cabinet's layout and the ordering of parts are accordingly simple.
The electrical installer can work very flexibly when assembling the distribution system. A carrier system with insulating material holders is the link between the enclosure and the assembly units. This carrier system can be easily removed by detaching the robust snap closing and without complex disassembly of screw coupling. All built-in components are covered with insulating material for protection against contact.
The numerous built-in units that are customised to original Moeller switching and protecting devices can be mounted quickly, easily and accurately. The IEC EN 60439-1 standard for the manufacture of "type-tested low-voltage switchgear combinations" also applies here.
