Eaton's Moeller Business Expands its Product Range for Sensors
As one of the leading manufacturers of components and systems for electrical engineering and automation, Eaton's Moeller business is now offering an even more comprehensive product range in the field of sensors. The sensor offer is being enlarged with a host of inductive, capacitive, photoelectric and mechanical limit switches. Virtually all customer requirements are catered for, thanks to the large number of mounting forms and connection variants for DC and AC supplies with two or three-wire connections. xStart DS7 Soft Starter - With Integrated Fan
DS7 is the name of the new soft starter series in Eaton Moeller's xStart system, which expands the tried and tested range of switchgear. Connection design, handling and the 45 mm device width match the motor-protective circuit-breakers and contactors of the device series exactly. The key feature of the system is the toolless plug connection, ensuring easy connection and wiring with other switching devices such as motor-protective circuitbreakers or motor protective relays. M-Max™ Frequency Inverters
Additional Functions Open New Application Areas
After the successful launch of the new frequency inverters of the M-Max series, Eaton's Moeller business is now offering a large number of additional features: Single-phase 230V devices in the rating range from 0.18 to 2.2 kW, threephase 230V devices (0.25 to 2.2 kW), 480V (0.37 to 7.5 kW) and 575V (0.55 to 7.5 kW) are available. External filters are available for special applications such as low leakage current, EMC category C1 or larger cable lengths. M-Max offers an inexpensive solution with devices also without internal filters. [more...]

H-Max™ Frequency Inverters
Cool Head and Warm Feet Thanks to H-Max™
H-Max™ frequency inverters from Eaton Moeller are suitable for universal use. Thanks to their special features they are ideally suitable for use in HVAC applications. As well as a configurator (Wizard) for the two PID controllers and an internal function block that carries out the on and off switching of uncontrolled motors, the devices also feature for example a function that defines its response to a fire. The behaviour of H-Max™ after a power failure can also be configured by the user. Whether a start command is required on restart or whether the drive is to automatically start up can be defined by the user. [more...]

CAD Data, Planning Safety and Process Optimization at the Click of a Mouse
Eaton's Moeller business is now providing CAD data via the Internet and thus meeting the wish of many customers for an optimized planning process. CAD stands for 'computer aided design' and involves the use of a computer in the planning and design process. CAD data is divided into two different categories: eCAD data for electrical design and mCAD data for mechanical design. Eaton Moeller is using the EPLAN Electric P8 project engineering system in addition to the previous offer of electrical design data. [more...]

Eaton's Moeller business is now offering all essential product information on the Internet in the new Eaton Moeller online catalogue. The completely new and user-friendly platform provides customers with the relevant product details for more than 25,000 Eaton Moeller order numbers. The new Eaton Moeller Online Catalogue also offers detailed product information for over 18,000 products in the form of single data sheets: Technical data, dimension drawings, engineering data, product pictures or installation instructions - each individual data sheet presents important product information clearly. “KUNO” Charity Appeal: xEnergy Low-Voltage Power Distribution System for the (KUNO) Children's University Hospital of East Bavaria
Together with its system partner KlöMö Energie- und Automatisierungstechnik in Regensburg, Eatons Moeller business donated a low-voltage power distribution system to the value of 55,000 euros in order to lay the foundation for a safe power supply system in the Children's Hospital of East Bavaria currently under construction. Thanks to the new building at the Regensburg University Hospital, which has been funded by cash and goods donations, paediatric and adolescent medical care will be provided locally to the highest standards from the end of 2009. Lengthy and time consuming journeys to remotely located maximum care clinics will thus become a thing of the past. [more...]

SmartWire-Darwin Product Film Presented with "Best Special Effects" Award at the International New York Film and Video Festival 2009.
With its trailer for the six minute film on Darwin technology, Eatons Moeller business was presented in March 2009 with the “Best Special Effects” award of the “New York International Independent Film and Video Festival (NYIIFVF)”. The NYIIFVF, was founded in 1993 and is one of the largest independent film festivals in the world. It presents the "Best Special Effects" award in the “Special Categories (International)” section to creative, independent film makers and screen writers (http://nyfilmvideo.info). New DC Switchgear Series for Photovoltaic Applications
Eaton's Moeller Business has added to its portfolio a number of products for DC applications such as photovoltaic or standby battery applications. The new range that is designed for DC voltages up to 1000V comprises DC fuse switch-disconnectors, DC switch-disconnectors and DC circuit-breakers with IP20 protection or enclosed with IP65 protection, as well as DC compact circuit-breakers. Smartwire-Darwin Innovative Communication System
Eaton's Moeller Business SmartWire-Darwin technology offers an innovative communication system for networking switching devices which allows the implementation of new kinds of switching cabinet concepts. The previous conventional control wiring for switchgear is thus now replaced by the SmartWire-Darwin communication system. As well as the control wiring, this also eliminates the need for the I/O modules that were previously required. This elimination of both wiring and I/O modules also means that the switching cabinet sizes can be considerably reduced, which consequently results in benefits for planning, designing and installation. PKE Motor-Protective Circuit-Breakers with Electronic Wide Range Overload Protection.
When it comes to the technical performance of motor-protective circuit-breakers, plant operators nowadays have the following key requirements: keeping the engineering and design requirements to a minimum; reducing the range of variants by the optimum adaption of ratings and increased system availability; and safety by the transfer of process data (condition monitoring). In this respect, motor-protective circuit-breakers with wide-range overload protection have key benefits compared to devices with thermal releases: Large setting ranges, low heat dissipation, tripping classes also higher than CLASS 10, precise and long-time stable tripping characteristics, as well as the possibility to read out parameter data. IZM Circuit-Breakers: New Air Circuit-Breaker Series.
At the Hannover Fair 2009 Eaton's Moeller Business is presenting a completely new series of air circuit-breakers. The new IZM product family now consists of four sizes - IZM20, IZM32, IZM40 and IZM63. This covers a rated current range from 800A to 6300A. The height and depth are identical for all devices - only the width increases the higher the size of the circuit-breaker. A new department has now been in place for a year at Eaton's Moeller Business central warehouse in Meckenheim: Previously extraordinary customer requirement were satisfied through "unofficial channels". Today Eaton's Moeller Business is offering a new and attractive value added service. This brings benefits for many customers, particularly those from the OEM sector, who not only require the supply of standard Eaton's Moeller Business products to be fast and reliable, but who also require the preparation of the items concerned to specific customer requirements before delivery. This ranges from the individual labelling of articles with the customer's material numbers to the pre-assembly of any Eaton's Moeller Business products.
