Evolutionary Darwin Product Concept from Moeller:
Darwin strategy brings communication to Moeller's present and future core components, integrating them into an overall system with "plug & work" technology.
"Step by step we are making our core components – the control circuit devices, circuit-breakers, motor starters, drives and controllers – communication-enabled," explained Dr Martin U. Schefter, managing director of the Moeller Holding GmbH and responsible for the Business Unit Command & Control Devices/Automation. Called Darwin after Charles R. Moeller SmartWire: "Plug & Work" for Motor Starters
In order for motor starters to carry out their switching and protection tasks safely and reliably, they have to be interconnected with the motors, the controller and with each other. Previously these connections involved extensive wiring requirements. However, with Moeller's SmartWire the requirements and costs for this are now considerably less.
