Moeller Group reports further double-digit sales growth – Continued expansion abroad and consistent pursuit of internationalisation strategy by the Bonn, Germany-based electrical engineering company

  • Sales expectations for the current financial year surpassed by far
  • Concentration on core business is paying off
  • New product developments planned for the coming years
  • Expansion of international sales activities
  • Brand awareness to be enhanced with new product design and end customer advertising
Bonn / Hanover, April 25, 2006

The Moeller Group, one of the leading global suppliers of automation components and products dedicated to power distribution in residential and industrial applications, is making further progress on its growth course. At a press conference held yesterday at the Hanover Industrial Fair, the Bonn, Germany-based company reported further above-average sales and earnings growth plus continuation of its successful strategy of concentration on its core competencies of power distribution, switching, protection and control.

Speaking at the press conference, Theo Kubat, CEO of the Moeller Group, stated, "Our strategy of concentration on core operations is paying off, as evidenced by the fact that we are able to present a double-digit sales increase for the second time in a row. In this case the growth markets in Eastern Europe and Asia are our main sales drivers, but we are also successful in Germany, where we are expanding our market share all the time. Our agenda for the coming months and years includes further internationalisation steps and the development of innovative products."

The Moeller Group set up new sales companies in Bulgaria and Serbia in May, and has been delivering its products to customers in the Eastern European market from its new logistics centre in Brno, Czech Republic, since late last year. Further production facilities will be opening in Serbia, Russia and India in the near future.

Innovations for growing markets
Moeller is displaying innovative product solutions for industrial production processes as well as new power distribution ideas at the Hanover Industrial Fair, the world's largest industrial trade show. The Bonn company will be concentrating on the market launch of a new generation of controllers for small to med-sized automation applications over the next few months, and has developed a completely new range of switchgear products for North America, an important export market.

New product design
Moeller is also going new ways in terms of product design. As an in-house study shows, product design is gaining in importance in the capital goods field, whereby not only technical solutions but also products with ergonomic and functional benefits are increasingly influencing purchasing decisions among both technicians and end consumers. For this reason the Bonn-based company is aiming to gradually modify the look of its complete range of products.

Top priority for customer proximity
Customer proximity is a further guarantee of sustained growth for Moeller. Accordingly the company will continue to focus on expanding its traditionally excellent relations with the international electrical wholesale segment and major industrial customers, namely by intensifying and continuously extending its key account management activities in this sectors. An international sales concept for the OEM and panel building market segments has just been installed.

Enhancing brand awareness among end consumers
Moeller is known as a long-established brand among its technical target groups, but this is not the case in the end consumer sector. Accordingly, the company is going new ways in awakening enthusiasm for the Moeller brand on a general level. The former football pro Toni Polster has been Moeller's new promotional celebrity for advertising in Austria for some time, and the respective advertising campaign is due to be launched in Germany soon.
